Sick visits are seen the same day, but we are unable to accept walk-ins at this time.
If you need shots-only (including allergy shots and immunizations), our shot hours are: M-F 9:30-11:30a and 2-4p, as well as Saturday from 9:30-11:30a. You do not need an appointment for shots.
We utilize Kosair’s After Hours Answering Service: the excellent nursing staff at Kosair are available after business hours to answer any questions and to help you determine the severity of your child’s condition. If you wish to speak with a physician, please let the nurse know and the service will have the doctor on call paged. We do share call with another pediatric practice in town, so you may occasionally speak with one of the doctors from the other practice. We also share hospital rounding responsibilities with this other group on Sundays and holidays.
We admit patients to Kosair Children’s Hospital, and we see all of those patients who are admitted to our service. We do not admit to the Hospitalist service (Just For Kids Hospitalists or “JFK team”). We also see newborns at Baptist East Hospital, Norton Suburban Hospital and Norton Hospital (downtown). We will utilize the Kosair Children’s Hospital Emergency Room for most illnesses or injuries that are truly pediatric in nature. There are times that Baptist East Hospital Emergency Room or Suburban Hospital/Kids Express will be suggested. And, of course, in the event of a true emergency, calling 9-1-1 or going to the closest hospital is always the best choice.
